Steven Sands is a geological and geotechnical engineer who joined JDMA in 2018 and completed his degree at the University of Saskatchewan. Steven has 7 years of experience in both geological and geotechnical engineering activities including geological mapping, geotechnical assessment, civil engineering and geotechnical design. Through his career, he has provided services to landowners, developers, public and private utilities, provincial and municipal government bodies, oil and gas as well as large mining companies. He is a proficient user of GIS and other remote sensing software for applications ranging from slope stability studies to terrain mapping and site characterization. Steven also has field experience carrying out site investigations and assessments, including geotechnical site characterization, ground truthing slope conditions and testing aggregate deposits. Within the construction services, Steven has extensive experience with tendering, specifications, documentation, record of construction reporting, contract administration, Quality Control and Quality assurance.
